Orthotics are used to correct the position and alignment of the feet to improve posture, stability and foot function. Orthotics are used to treat a range of conditions which affect the feet, ankles,
knees and the lower back.
At Peter Simson Podiatry, both custom-made and off the shelf devices are used.
The choice of an orthotic prescription will depend upon the outcome of the biomechanical assessment which is performed during the consultation.
It is important to note that not all conditions affecting the feet will require orthotics
as quite often a simple change of footwear will resolve most problems.
